Abstract. The premise of the study is the hypothesis that it takes much less time to compare visual images than to compare two melodies by ear. This study aims to answer two questions: is it possible to perceive the rhythm immediately with the help of a visual image, without changing the image sequentially over time; and how accurately a person can reproduce this rhythm. The purpose of the study is to determine the parameter by which a person’s perception of rhythm can be objectively assessed, the best type of stimulus for transmitting information about rhythm to a person, and how many cycles of perception of a rhythmic structure in a listened melody or in a synthesized image of an ornament is required for a person to be able to repeat this rhythm.

Abstract. The article considers the issues of assessing the reliability of radio reception of decameter radio channels with pseudo-random radio frequency hopping. A simulation computer model is proposed that allows assessing the reliability of signal reception under conditions of a priori uncertainty of the communication channel parameters. It is shown that simulation modeling can be considered as one of the main methods for studying the functioning of decameter range radio channels, as well as assessing performance indicators.

Abstract. The article presents the results of the research of a private methodology for assessing the intensity of the electromagnetic field of random interference of a decameter radio link, developed on the basis of studies of statistics of the operation of the aviation decameter radio communication system in the Arctic at communication ranges of up to 500 km. The article presents a description of the original version of the methodology and the results of the optimization of its application area. The article presents the results of a two-stage verification of the efficiency and conditions of applicability of the optimized version of the methodology.

Abstract. The article considers the composition and functioning of multiservice access nodes in multiservice communication networks. An analysis of the method for calculating delays during cyclic polling of queues when servicing multimedia traffic was performed. An example of calculation for three priority queues is given: voice traffic, videoconferencing traffic, and data transmission traffic.

Abstract. Taking into account the dynamics of changes in the volume of IP telephony applications, the expediency of maintaining a specialized telephone subsystem as part of the SCS backbone subsystem in the near and medium term is proved. The separation of the functional section of the telephone subsystem of the switching field of a floor technical room into subsections of conventional and system 2-wires and 4-wires telephones is justified. The necessity of allocating one line of 50-port telephone panels for a subsection of 4-wires telephones is shown.

Abstract. The article is devoted to the issues of formation and analysis of polar modulation stereophonic broadcasting signals. Based on the information on the procedure for implementing polar modulation, it proposes an algorithm for restoring modulating dependencies, intended for estimation of the quality of operation of devices that generate polar modulation signals. Part I of the article analyzes the requirements of the state standard for polar modulation signals and complex stereophonic signals, identifies the features of using special-form signal generators to generate polar modulation signals, and substantiates the requirements for them. The methods for analyzing polar modulation signals using measuring instruments are systematized.

Abstract. This article describes the problem of noise compensation in indirect-type frequency synthesizers. An existing method of phase noise compensation using a frequency feedback ring is reviewed. The frequency characteristics are calculated for the input effects, as well as for the voltage-controlled oscillator noise. The article provides a comparison of the changes in these characteristics depending on the parameters of various elements of the compensation ring.
